The old adage, “If you want a friend, be a friend” rings true. The Bible contains a great recipe for making and keeping friends, so Sunday’s sermon is like a cooking show – an explanation of God’s friendship recipe!
The sermon for Sunday is about the story of ten lepers who needed healing. They came to Jesus at a safe distance, and He instructed them to show themselves to the priest. They did so and all ten were healed, but only one came back to Jesus to show his appreciation (Luke 17:11-19). Jesus asked, “Where are the other nine?” Indeed! Ingratitude is all too common and we experience it even in our society. Yet, rather than fretting about all the rudeness, we must simply choose to join the thankful minority! This is the only way to make an effective difference. We begin by appreciating and praising God for our many blessings, and thus begin to notice and appreciate the good fellow human beings do in our lives, also.
